Equipment
Bat: Official (yellow) Wiffle bat.
Ball: Official Wiffle ball.
Teams
Teams will consist of no less than 2 and no more than 3 players per team. Only two players are allowed in the field on defense (one of them being the pitcher)
Game
-Games are six innings long, consisting of 4 outs per inning (2 outs per team).
-All disputes are handled via negotiation by the teams playing unless a knowlegable third party is present to rule on the matter.
-All pitched balls must be thrown slow enough to arc. Any sinking which results from irregular motion of the ball is not considered arc. If a team feels the pitcher is throwing too fast, it is up to them to make the opposing team aware of their objection. Teams must handle disputes on their own unless a knowlegable third party is present who may rule on the matter.
Gameplay
The following acts are considered outs:
-A cleanly fielded ground ball (a player may bobble as long as it does not touch the ground) is an out
-A ball which hits a cone (cones mark first and third base) and fielded is an out unless the cone is knocked over
-A caught fly ball is an out
-3 strikes is an out. A foul tip into the strike zone on the third strike is considered an out.
-Any batted ball higher than the pitchers head is considered a fly ball and cannot be fielded on the ground as an out.
-If there is a runner on third with no outs, anyone on the batting team can yell the word "TAG" on a fly ball that has not yet landed or been fielded by the defense. In this case the defense has to throw the ball in one motion toward the backstop. If the ball hits the backstop (on the fly or on the bounce), the runner on third is out, if the ball does not hit any part of the backstop, the runner scores.
-If there is a man on first with no outs, a ground ball may be thrown in one motion through the strike zone (on the fly or on the bounce) for a double play.
-A team which bats out of order is penalized one out. The person who was due up will bat next.
Balls/Strikes
A running count of balls and strikes is kept during each at bat. If a batter receives 5 balls it is a walk, and 3 strikes is an out.
A ball thrown through the strike zone on the fly is considered a strike. Also, a foul ball which enters the strike zone on the third strike is an out. Any ball outside the strike zone is a ball.
Baserunning
All baserunners are imaginary and advance the same number of bases as the batter. Runners only advance on a hit and not an out unless the TAGUP rule applies.
Home Run: Any ball which travels in the air over the rope or fence designating the wall.
Double: Any ball which travels in the air under the rope or fence designating the wall.
Single: Any ball that does not fall in one of the other categories.
