The RWL preseason week was held on Wednesday with great anticipation. Noticeably absent from the festivities were 2007 MVP/Cy Young award winner Tim Dunn due to the birth of his first child (congrats Tim) and Keith Torrey who called to say he "didn't need no preseason." Mike Beland, previously assumed dead due to his lack of communication was in attendance along with RWL steadfasts Bryan Dunn and Greg Childs. RWL newcomers Matt Dunn, Kevin Sullivan and Mike Santoine rounded out the lineup.
Here are some of my notes from last eve:
* Kevin Sullivan can play some defense
* Matt Dunn could be a potential MVP candidate in his rookie year
* Mike Santoine could be a potential Cy Young candidate if he can keep the sand out of his vagina
* Game 2 was hopefully a sign of things to come as it ended on a walkoff homer by Bryan Dunn
The final tallies:
Mike Beland: 5-14, 4 HR, 5 RBI; 5IP, 4H, 3R, 1K, 2BB
Matt Dunn: 8-14, 8 HR, 12 RBI; 3.5IP, 9H, 8R, 4K, 2BB
Kevin Sullivan: 7-13, 4 HR, 4 RBI; 3IP, 6H, 5R, 1K, 3BB
Mike Santoine: 1-6, 1 HR, 1 RBI; 2IP, 2H, 1R, 4K, 0BB
Greg Childs: 3-13, 1 HR, 2 RBI; 4.5IP, 4H, 5R, 1K, 2BB
Bryan Dunn: 8-16, 5HR, 7RBI; 5IP, 8H, 9R, 5K, 1BB
